What’s goin on?!

It’s been awhile since I’ve posted anything about whats happening in my life. So here is the update! Since the last time I really posted anything My wife Kendra and I have packed up and moved to Seattle, Wa.

We were really lucky and blessed to have my good buddy Curt drive over with us and help us unpack all of our junk. I was also blessed when the 3rd day we were here I was able to transfer from my job in Spokane to Seattle unexpectedly.

I work with a pretty diverse group of dudes who are pretty unique, two of them are Vietnamese and the other is a Filipino fella. Two of them speak pretty decent English and the other is more of a grunter and hand waver.

The other day they introduced me to the asian treat that is “Mochi”. Which is really just a sweet rice treat but the stuff we had was “Red bean” Ice Cream and we also had some “Green Tea” Ice cream and both are balls wrapped in the “Mochi”.

I also found out that some believe it is acceptable to sleep, play basketball and play computer games at work if it’s slow and you feel like you have nothing to do.

The other day was also Kendra’s first day of school at UW and I had the pleasure of walking her to the bus stop and watching her go.

So far we’ve had a pretty good time here in Seattle. We’ve been trying to take in as many sights as we can and explore as much as possible. About a week ago we came across Carkeek Park, it’s a lovely park/beach right by our place. There is hiking and lots of grassy areas as well as a beach looking out on the Puget Sound.

I also had the pleasure of walking around the U of W campus with my beautiful wife. I realized while I was there that it is home to tons of noisy crows. I also got to see the building where Kendra is growing in knowledge.

We’ve also been scoping out some great restaurants to try out and so we will be posting more about that and our other meal adventures on http://jk-tb.tumblr.com/ . Thanks so much for taking the time to catch up!

We went to SpIFF…. A lot!

This week kicked off the beginning of the Spokane International Film Festival. Kendra and I have been in love with this for about 4 years now. It’s just an awesome way to see movies you might never have seen otherwise. SpIFF brings in films from all over the world and the United States and gives you the opportunity to step out of yourself for a moment and see another point of view. Sometimes it is really challenging and thought provoking, other times its just humorous and fun to see another perspective.

Either way it is so fun and I highly recommend it. We saw a few films but I have made links to the ones I have enjoyed the most. So far my favorites have beenThe SandmanCrime after Crime, and Natural Selection.
